OmPlanet - Open Media Planet, Created by the People, Owned by the People, Serving the People
Description
OmPlanet is a multidimensional network ecosystem to connect youth/spiritual/ecological communities, NGOs, non-formal educational institutions and individuals worldwide. It has interconnected 12 Dimensions and provides the integration platform for free communication, open exchange and sharing, efficient collaboration, co-creativity and independent self-organization. It is a free software with interoperable protocols open to all communities, organizations and individuals.
This is an evolving framework and we can not be certain about its concrete final outlook. Yet, we can be creative and try to imagine and actually see some of the dimensions already here and now. Examples: federated free social networking, p2p file sharing, communal sustainable living projects, self-organized activities, efficient p2p transportation (car/ride sharing), transparent banking, market-free zones, etc.
---temp Social Innovation: Bridging ICT with Social Sciencies
Expanding the virtual world of SNs into the user's real world, encourageing people to interact in real time at real places based on shared interests or shared activities carried out with or without computers. ---
The informal purposes of the project is to project the vision of fair and just human affairs into all areas of human activity (which are carried out with the help of web technologies) and as well to em-power people to help themselves with more cooperation, understanding and fair energy exchange.
OmPlanet will have no profit-driven company, organization or any entity owning or controlling it in a centralized way. No one should receive direct credits or provide direct goods on behalf of OmPlanet. To sustain itself it will need an administrative core but that too will rely entirely on its members' voluntary contribution and take into full account their decision-making power.
The free will of people will keep the project going forward for as long as the project is useful. Together, we have the ability to transform societies and economies by putting them into the hands of many more individuals and providing them freedom to self-organize and co-create.
